Anonymous asked:

if people came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

ifjackwhitewerehood answered:

Humans aint evolve from any of da species we be knowin’ as apes today. At some fuckin’ point 5 to 8 million years ago, da common ancestor of peeps and modern apes diverged to form da two separate lineages we know today. Da species at da end of these lineages are a result of a very specific crazy ass combination of selection pressures and genetic mutations over millions of years. Dis same combination is highly unlikely to occur ever again, yo.

Please note dat modern day monkeys, in a study done by White et. al, (x) hold da ability to jump on beds. In White’s study, a monkey was also found to have da ability to place an emergency phone call when another monkey died from head trauma.
